The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Shade Omoniyi alongside management and staff of KW-IRS recently received a delegation from the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Abuja at the Corporate Head Office in Ilorin.
The team from FCT-IRS led by Mrs. Kuluwa Al-Mustapha PhD, stated that the visit was necessitated by the need to understudy KW-IRS; a leading State Internal Revenue Service under the leadership of Shade Omoniyi. She also noted that corporate planning, which includes policy and strategy formulation is the particular interest of the visiting team.
The Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi, and the top management team took turns to share the growth mechanisms responsible for the drastic improvement in the State IGR since assumption of office, part of which is credited to the total support of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; adoption of full automation of revenue collection, tax assessment, accurate data gathering, inter-departmental collaboration, ISO Certification, as well as the dedicated and performance-driven staff.
The FCT-IRS team visited the Corporate Planning Department of KW-IRS to observe the work processes and compare notes to replicate the strategies currently put in place by the Service. They applauded the commitment of KW-IRS to standard procedures, the IGR growth of Kwara State, and the various developmental initiatives all around the Service.
