Every revenue authority has what it collects for the Government.
KW-IRS, FIRS and Local government are the three arms of government, with the responsibility of collection of revenue as provided by the law and they work together especially in the area of data sharing and in ensuring all eligible taxpayers are captured and paid all that is due.
KW-IRS assists with the collection of some revenue lines on behalf of the Local Government of the State and collaborate with Local Government Councils of the State under the auspices of Joint Revenue Committee (JRC), chaired by the Executive Chairman, KW-IRS.
The collaboration at the Joint Revenue Committee (JRC) helps address issues arising from collection process of Local Government Areas of the State.
The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) continues to grow it revenue generation for the State through its reforms, collaboration with relevant stakeholders and constant strive to developing ways to blocking revenue leakages and diversion towards consistently increasing the IGR of the State without any introduction of new taxes.
KW-IRS core responsibility is revenue mobilization for the State Government.
The State has various Ministries, Departments and Agencies with their various cabinet responsibility and KW-IRS does interventions across the State to aid an improved IGR.
Community Impact Program (CIP) are done when a gap to improve IGR is noticed and to encourage tax compliance and are done around the 6-Es of the KW-IRS (i.e. Environment, Empowerment, Energy, Enterprise, Employment and Education).
Efforts are being made to ensure developmental projects spread across the State.
It is expected of every taxpayer to transact directly with the official revenue officers at the various KW-IRS offices and payment points situated across the State and ensure all payments are receipted accordingly.

All revenue payments are to be made into the Kwara State Government IGR Accounts through the online payment platforms provided by the State. That is REMITA, QUICKTELLER, PAYARENA and others to be communicated in due course.
