The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Shade Omoniyi, led her management team and some staff to the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin today, 6th May, 2021 on a working visit.
Speaking during the visit, Shade Omoniyi noted the State Polytechnic remains partners in progress with the KW-IRS and she is confident that the meeting will equally result in mutually beneficial resolutions.
Prominent among issues discussed was the Service desire to promote transparency and visibility in its administration through its automated system.
The Executive Chairman enjoined the Kwara State Polytechnic management to equally uphold same virtues particularly by ensuring transparency of its payment portal, furnishing KW-IRS with list of business operators within its premises, and making sure PAYE are correctly deducted and remitted.
While commending the institution for its timely submission of Nominal Rolls, she encouraged similar timeliness in its rendition of Annual Tax returns, monthly schedule for PAYE, Development Levy, and Withholding Tax.
In addition, she charged the institution to ensure remittance of statutory deductions of Stamp Duty, Development Levy and Withholding Tax from all contracts carried out by the institution.
The Rector of the institution, Engineer Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, in his remark, said that the Polytechnic remain committed and willing to continue to be partners in progress with KW-IRS and pledged the full corporation of the institution in ensuring the Service meets its target.
The Rector also gave assurance that the institution has been remitting all due as revenue and would further assist by directing the Business Premises Committee of the institution to compile the list as requested by KW-IRS in order to jointly improve IGR of the State for its strategic development.
