The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Shade Omoniyi has congratulated Mardhiyah Kehinde Abdussalam, a staff of the Service for emerging overall winner at the just concluded National Chess Championship held in Lagos between 8th and 14th November, 2021.
Mardhiyah defeated her opponents in all tough rounds and stages of the competition to clutch the gold medal at the end of the championship.
In her appreciation message, the gold medalist expressed her gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support and passion for the development of sports in Kwara State.
In her words, “Words alone cannot express my gratitude and indebtedness to my team members at the just concluded National Open Chess Championship.
Their support, encouragement and love brought the success and gold to the team in the women’s category”.
Mardhiyah also expressed her appreciation to the Executive Chairman, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, the Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Magaji, Professor Bewaji, Alhaji Adesoye, and all who supported and contributed to her victory and success story.
