The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, (KW-IRS) Shade Omoniyi received the Honorable Commissioner for Social Development, Hajiya Mariam Nnafatima Imam, and her team of principal personnel of the Ministry at the KW-IRS Corporate Head Office, G.R.A, Ilorin, on Tuesday, 15th April, 2025.
The working visit according to the newly appointed Commissioner is to establish a mutual and symbiotic working relationship with KW-IRS as the sole agency of government responsible for revenue administration; and to discuss initiatives geared towards maximizing revenue collection from existing State-owned public institutions, special care, and rehabilitation centres that are directly under the purview of the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, i.e. the Children Reception Centre, Social Welfare Centre, Marriage Registry, and Amoyo Rehabilitation Centre.
Nnafatima pledged her Ministry’s commitment to improving the internally generated revenue growth of the State, hopeful that the collaborative efforts will boost the efficiency of all the State-owned public rehabilitation, child-care and support centres.
The Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi in her remarks expressed gratitude to the Honorable Commissioner for the return visit, and for passionately joining in the revenue mobilization drive of Kwara State.
She commended her laudable ingenuity within the short period of assuming office, assuring her of KW-IRS’s continuous support and consideration of the developmental initiatives of the Ministry to further boost the IGR of the State which is also expected to further enhance the socio-economic viability of the State.
The meeting was attended by principal officers of the Ministry, KW-IRS Head, Ministries, Maimunat Amasa, and selected staff of the Service.
