The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Shade Omoniyi in company of some members of the top management team received the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Regional Coordinator for Kwara, Ekiti and Ondo States, at the Corporate Head Office, Ilorin on Wednesday, 27th July, 2022.
The Regional Coordinator, Isola Akingbade, who led a 6-man team to the Revenue House, stated that the essence of the visit is delineated on the symbiotic relationship between KW-IRS and FIRS, and the need to further strengthen more collaboration between the two revenue agencies.
While commending the existing relationship between both agencies, Akingbade highlighted issues bordering on verification of taxpayers’ data, payment of stamp duty by contractors and payment of tax liabilities by MDAs in the State which need to be addressed for effective revenue generation for Kwara State.
Reacting to this, the Executive Chairman KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi thanked the Regional Coordinator for the visit, reiterating that the collaboration will go a long way in enhancing tax administration in the State, and also assist in the exchange of data and information sharing between FIRS and KW-IRS.
She therefore pledged the continuous cooperation and collaboration of the Service with FIRS to boost Internally Generated Revenue in Kwara State, and also assures the team of KW-IRS unwavering effort towards ensuring the collective growth of IGR for the state at large.
In attendance were the KW-IRS Director, Accounts and Finance, Omolara Ojulari, Director Income Tax, Mohammed Usman, Head, Tax Assessment Abdullahi Gegele as well as Omar Fatima Muazu and other members of the FIRS team.
