The Executive Chairman of KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi received in audience the council members of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
President and Chairman of Council, CITN, Adesina Adedayo, who led the visiting team to the corporate head office of KW- IRS in Ilorin on Wednesday, 31/05/2023, expressed his profound gratitude to the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration for its continuous support to CITN.
Adedayo appreciated the piece of land allocated to the Institute in Kwara to build a Tax Academy and many other support of the government towards its programs, with anticipation to receiving more, as the tenure of office of the current council expires and the Institute prepares to elect new council members to steer its affairs for another 2years.
In her response, the Executive Chairman, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi welcomed the team, stating various achievements of the State under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, particularly in the area of provision of required support needed to drive and enhance IGR of the State.
Shade Omoniyi added that the State looks forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with the Tax Academy in the area of tax advancement and collaboration in raising tax consciousness in the people of the State.
Congratulating the outgoing council for its contributions to developing the tax profession in the country, the KW-IRS boss sends her best wishes to the incoming council and pledged continuous partnership of the Service with the Institute, confirming putting in all efforts to sustaining and improving on inculcating tax culture in younger generations through its annual tax quiz events for secondary schools in Kwara and in other tax activities geared towards having a tax compliant society.
The meeting had in attendance Directors of KW-IRS, CITN council members, the Pioneer Provost Kwara Tax Academy, Professor M.T. Abdulrazaq (SAN), board members of Kwara Tax Academy, the Regional Coordinator of Society for Women in Taxation (SWIT), Dr. Biola Adimula, immediate past coordinator, SWIT Kwara State chapter, Olufunmilayo Olaoye, the newly elected coordinator SWIT, Kwara chapter, Oluwakemi Obakemi and some staff of KW-IRS.
