The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, (KW-IRS), as part of its continuous effort in ensuring the safety of its workforce, organized in-house vaccination exercise for its staff members.
The two-day exercise took place at the Service Corporate Head office, in Ilorin, on the 5th and 6th May 2021, and was administered by the medical team of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.
The top management team and staff of the Service who received their jabs, during the exercise confirmed that the vaccine is safe, charging other members of staff with erroneous beliefs about the vaccine to desist from spreading falsehood and make use of this opportunity to get themselves immuned against the coronavirus as required.
The Executive Chairman, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, in her address to staff, reiterated that the vaccine is safe, noting that, the vaccine is most necessary, considering the fact that the staff of the Service are also front line workers, who attend and have contact with several individual taxpayers on daily basis.
Importantly, with the rise in the number of cases recorded in India in the last few months and the threats of a third wave, it is a step in the right direction.
She equally encouraged Kwarans to ensure they get vaccinated and continue to stay safe, and abide by all safety measures put in place by the Kwara State Government.
