The Executive Chairman, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, led top management and staff of the Service to the 24th Annual Tax Conference of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) for the year 2022.
The conference themed “Global Disruption, Taxation and Digitalization: Implications for Socio-economic Development” held in Abuja from 17th to 20th May, 2022 considered the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy, and the resultant disruptions it has brought to all spheres of life.
The conference also aimed at providing an avenue for tax professionals to consider the 15points of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (OECD-BEPS), action plans and their effects on Nigeria’s economy, and proffering lasting solutions to the global disruptions in order to chart a new course for tax administration in Nigeria.
The conference witnessed keynote address delivered by the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, ably represented by the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Muhammad Nami, other paper presentations and the grand finale of the 2022 National Tax Quiz Competition which had a student from the University of Ilorin emerged over all winner.
The event had in attendance tax professionals and dignitaries from all walks of life including the Kwara State Commissioner for Finance, Olasumbo Oyeyemi.
