KW-IRS PAYS VISIT TO THE ELERIN OF ERIN-ILE

In the continuous working visits to various institutions towards engendering collaborative revenue drive for the State, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, (KW-IRS), Shade Omoniyi in the company of her Director, Accounts & Finance, Omolara Ojulari, Director Admin & Operations,Olatunji Balogun, Director,Legal & Compliance, Shehu Mogaji Abdullahi, members of  Management team and some staff of the Service paid a visit to the Palace of Elerin of Erin-Ile, His Royal Highness, Oba Abdulganiyu Ajibola Ibrahim Olosookun II.

Speaking at the Palace of Elerin,the Executive Chairman, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, stated that the visit was to solicit continuous involvement of the traditional ruler in the attainment of the goal of an improved revenue generation in Erin Ile in particular and Oyun Local Government Area of the State in general.

She reiterated that the present administration under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is committed to ensuring that the people of Kwara enjoy the dividends of democracy which are already evident in the various initiatives and projects completed and ongoing in various Local Government Areas of the State, parts of which are the construction of the Town Hall road and Station Road projects in Oyun Local Government, provision of Covid 19 palliative measures to cushion the adverse effects on taxpayers,  provision of job opportunities in the State, etc.

In his response, the Elerin of Erin-Ile expressed his appreciation to the visiting team and the government of the day, for the intervention in various ways that could improve their lives and in return foster tax-compliance.

He added that, though Erin-Ile community is dominated by farmers who depend solely on proceeds from their agricultural produce as means of livelihood, but will give all needed support to the KW-IRS in achieving its set goals in Erin-Ile and its environs.

He advised that the collection of jangali should be revived and more be done in the areas of capturing taxable individuals & entities into the tax net and in blockage of any form of revenue leakage.

Elerin assured that, Erin-Ile community will not cease to give its best towards an improved revenue generation and development of the State.
