Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) has pledged continuous supports to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in fighting corruption in all its forms.
The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, Shade Omoniyi disclosed this on Thursday, 10th of September 2020, when she led the top Management team of KW-IRS on a Courtesy visit to the Ilorin Zonal Office of EFCC. On her visit team were Director, Legal & Compliance, Abdulteef Okandeji Esq., Director, Accounts & Finance, Omolara Ojulari and Director, Admin & Operations, Olatunji Balogun.
According to the KW-IRS boss, she said the visit was her first to the EFCC premises in Ilorin since she assumed office as the Executive Chairman of KW-IRS about a year ago and it was to welcome the new Zonal Head of EFCC, Ilorin, Deputy Chief Detective Superintendent, Kazeem Oseni to the State and put a face to the brand – KW-IRS.
She added “Integrity is very key in whatever we do, and I know we need to be open and transparent in the discharge of our duties and seek collaboration in revenue drive for the State.”
Shade Omoniyi noted that improvement of IGR for the State and joining hands with the anti-graft agency to handle issues that might arise in the course of doing the revenue job remain paramount.
Responding, the Zonal Head of the EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Office, DCDS Kazeem Oseni, appreciated the delegation from KW-IRS and vowed better collaboration. He remarked that the two agencies of government, KW-IRS and EFCC have been working together and EFCC will not relent in responding when called upon for any assistance.
Oseni emphasized that KW-IRS will make their job a lot easier when right things are done at all times; urging KW-IRS not to only focus on revenue drive for the strategic development of Kwara State, but also see to blockage of revenue leakages and proper record keeping, while dealing with both individual and corporate entities.
Together, DCDS Oseni said, we can build a better society.
