The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) Shade Omoniyi in the company of some management staff visited the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Ilorin Government Business Tax Office (GBTO) on Tuesday 16th June 2020 for an official familiarization and discussion of Revenue related issues at both the Federal and State levels.
The Tax Controller, FIRS Ilorin Office, Mr. Taofik Agbabiaka who received the KW-IRS’s team along with various Heads of Units and Departments of the Service commended the decision of the KW-IRS Executive Chairman for the visit which will provide both agencies the opportunity of addressing lingering revenue related matters.
The Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi, in her address during the familiarization visit said she has always envisaged a mutually beneficial relationship with the Ilorin FIRS office since she assumed office and has looked forward to the meeting.
She assured that the KW-IRS as a revenue-generating agency in the State is willing to foster a smooth and cordial relationship with the FIRS as a sister agency through the provision of both short and long term solutions to all forms of existing revenue-related issues between both parties to thrive together and collectively boost the IGR of the country.
In response, the Ilorin FIRS Tax Controller on behalf of his team at the GBTO expressed gratitude to the KW-IRS visiting team and promised to facilitate needed services towards providing solutions to all the bottlenecks highlighted and the information gaps that have transpired between both agencies over the years.
Conclusively, both parties agreed on ways to simplify Revenue Collection and Administration which will make life better for the citizenry and bring about a high level of measurable progress in the economy.
