The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) hosted family, friends and well-wishers in celebration of the retirement of one of its esteemed management staff and erudite tax professional, Ibrahim Bolakale Imam, on Monday, 30th December, 2024 at its Corporate Head Office in Ilorin.
Encomiums poured in from former colleagues, family, friends and associates of the celebrant in attestation to his hard work, commitment, versatility and willingness to impart knowledge to all and sundry. Bolakale was described as a diligent, humble, dedicated tax administrator and was highly commended for his ability to relate well with everyone without any sense of pride or discrimination.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi affirmed that Bolakale is indeed well grounded in the interpretation of tax laws, acknowledging his readiness to proffer solutions to tax-related matters whenever he was called upon. She appreciated him for his commitment and enormous contributions to the attainment of the goals of KW-IRS and to tax administration in general, adding that the Service would not hesitate to consult him for his opinions on tax matters, especially with regard to the implementation of the proposed tax reforms. She wished him a joyous retirement and prayed for God’s guidance and sound health in the pursuit of his future endeavours.
Responding to the commendations by his family, friends and colleagues, Bolakale Imam appreciated the KW-IRS Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi, management and staff for the privilege to serve and contribute his quota to Kwara State revenue mobilization. He thanked everyone for the outpouring of love and pledged his readiness to offer his assistance whenever the need arises.
Ibrahim Bolakale Imam is a graduate of Business Administration from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. He holds an MBA from the University of Ado Ekiti and a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Calabar. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI), an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPAN), and a certified ISO Lead Auditor. Imam joined KW-IRS on 2nd January, 2016 after his voluntary resignation from the defunct Kwara State Board of Inland Revenue where he started his career and had worked for almost three decades. He was made the Head of Tax Audit Department where he worked assiduously and did not fail to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the job. He was the pioneer Head of Community Evaluation and Monitoring Department, Monitoring and Evaluation Department and Internal Control Department where he discharged his duties effectively and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Director; a position he held until his retirement on 3rd November, 2024.
The event was graced by KW-IRS top management, staff and well-wishers of the celebrant who gathered to wish him a happy retirement and continued success in all his future undertakings.
