The International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo, Kwara State, on Thursday 15th December 2022 held its 3rd graduation ceremony for 400 trainees that have successfully completed their trainings in various technical programs such as Automotive Technology, Building Construction Technology, Electrical, and Electronic Technology, Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioner Technology, Information and Communications Technology, Welding and Fabrication Technology among others.
Fifty (50) out of the graduands are taxpayers drawn from the Kwara Artisans Congress (KWACO) and sponsored by the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), as part of the support of the Service towards the youths development and empowerment goal of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration and in enhancing voluntary tax compliance.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Executive Chairman, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, represented by the KW-IRS Zonal Coordinator for Kwara South, Sadiq Abiodun, congratulated the graduands for their commitment and dedication to learning new and modern skill sets in their various chosen fields of endeavours, noting that the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration will continue to deliver on all its promises to ensuring Kwarans have easy access to developmental schemes that will enhance means of livelihood through provision of affordable training, learning, and developmental platforms.
Shade Omoniyi emphasized that the fifty (50) lucky graduating students who benefitted from the Community Impact Programmes (CIPs) of KW-IRS for the year 2022 have upgraded their various skills and are expected to in turn contribute the knowledge gained to the economic growth of the State.
Omoniyi assured continuous and smooth working relationship of KW-IRS with members of the Kwara Artisans Congress, as it is doing with every other registered associations and unions of the State, charging all beneficiaries and graduands from IVTEC to ensure good utilization of the knowledge acquired during the training, by giving back to the community and by being good ambassadors of their respective families.
In their separate remarks, the Rector, IVTEC, Engr, Dr. Yaru Salihu, and the Chairman, Governing Council, IVTEC, Alhaji Yekini Debo Bukoye expressed their profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unflinching support and commitment towards the Institution in the area of improved technical and vocational acquisition for desiring individuals in the State.
The management of IVTEC also appreciated the continued support and collaboration of KW-IRS with institutions in the State in impacting the lives of Kwarans positively.
The ceremony featured presentation of Technical and Entrepreneurship Certificates of the Kwara State Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme (KWYEEGS) to beneficiaries and; the presentation of empowerment start-up packages in fulfillment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s promises.
The occasion had in attendance, traditional rulers from Igbomina land and environs, led by the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo and Chairman, Irepodun Local Government Traditional Council, His Royal Highness, Oba (Barr.) Ismaila Yahaya Atoloye Alebiosu, the Executive members of the Artisan Congress, representatives of Corporate Organizations, top government functionaries, heads of ministries and parastatals, family, and friends.
