The Head of Department, Informal Sector Department under the Income Tax Directorate of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) Mrs. Maimunat Amasa led her team to the Estate Rent and Commission Agent’s Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) Kwara State Branch for the official flag-off of collection of Personal Income Tax (PIT) from members of the Association.
Mrs. Amasa in her opening remarks at the event extended gratitude to the Chairman of the Association for his exemplary skills and commended him for his ability to appeal to members of the Association on the significance of being tax compliant while further emphasizing on the need for a continuous and more beneficial relationship between both bodies.
She also assured that the Service will protect the interest of the members of the Association and ensure they receive due attention as an indicator of a productive partnership between both bodies as and when due.
The State Chairman, Estate Rent, and Commission Agent’s Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) Kwara State Branch, Hon. Wasiu Tunde Olayanju (E.F.A) in his response commended the KW-IRS for the earnest reception and mutual partnership opportunities provided to the Association through a series of consultations held at the Service’s head office.
Hon. Olayanju also assured that zonal chairmen and designated members of the Association will collect the levy on behalf of the Association and remit to the KW-IRS. He launched the flag-off exercise with the payment of his PIT at the event and assured that executives and members of the Association will follow suit respectively.
He charged KW-IRS as a socially responsible agency to continue on its part to assist the Association and the State in general with the provision of basic social amenities that will make livelihood bearable to the citizens of the state.
Highlights of the event include the presentation of payment receipts to members of the Association by Mrs. Amasa and group photograph with the Exco’s of the Association and Staff of the KW-IRS.
