The Joint Tax Board (JTB) presented a Long Service Award to the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Shade Omoniyi on Tuesday 5th March 2024 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The award and dinner event was held to honour and send-forth former Chairmen, Executive Secretaries and members of the JTB and previous Executive Chairmen of State Internal Revenue Services as well as present Long Service Awards to deserving current Executive Chairmen, one of whom was Shade Omoniyi.
The Long Service Award is given to deserving members who have served as Executive Chairmen for more than one term, typically 4 years and have contributed immensely to the achievements of the Board while advancing Tax & Revenue Administration in Nigeria.
Shade Omoniyi has been an active member of JTB since her appointment as Executive Chairman, KW-IRS in 2019. She was reappointed by His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq following a successful completion of her first tenure where she introduced laudable initiatives and increased the Internally Generated Revenue of the State with His Excellency’s support.
Over the time she has been a member of JTB, Shade Omoniyi has contributed to various activities and initiatives of the Board, served on various Committees, been selected to represent the region on many occasions and been a point of peer learning as Kwara State has been put on the map as a trendsetter and her willingness to cooperate, collaborate and share experience is well-known.
Congratulations to the Executive Chairman on this well-deserved professional achievement which is indicative of your service and dedication to Kwara State, Nigeria, and the field of Taxation.
