The Motor Licensing Authority (MLA) department of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) has again succeeded in the feat of recovering a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle, which was stolen on Fola Agoro Street, Shomolu, Lagos State on 12th November 2020, was brought to the Phase 1 office of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, Ilorin on Friday, 19th February 2021, in an attempt to have revalidation done on it.
In the process of running necessary checks to confirm ownership of the vehicle, it was discovered that efforts had previously been made to register the vehicle and the discovery showed conflicting details of persons on the registration and the new number plate registered also discovered to be fake.
Following these revelations by the MLA officials, arrests of seven suspects have been made by the police and they are currently being investigated, as the vehicle had changed hands several times.
Mr. Nzemoa Ejikeme Simon, the confirmed owner of the stolen car, visited the KW-IRS Head office on the 24th February 2021, to show his appreciation to the Service.
In his words, “the recovery of my vehicle after four months was made possible by the due diligence of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service during the process of revalidation.
