As part of ongoing efforts towards Tax Advocacy and compliance the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Mrs Shade Omoniyi, along with some Management and staff of KW-IRS visited the palace of Olofa of Offa HRM Oba Muftau Oloyede Gbadamosi Okikiola Esuwoye II today. In attendance was Chief Mrs Wosilat Tinuke Macarthy, the Bobaselu of Offa who also doubles as SSA and Special Duties to HRM, Prince Tunji Oyawoye, Chief of Staff, Olofa Palace.
Mrs Shade intimated the new plans she has in place for revenue mobilization which includes the opening of new Area Offices to ensure that everyone is able to pay their tax conveniently. She also stated that starting 1st January 2020, each Local Government will be managed by separate officers.
She referred to the rehabilitation of schools as one of the highlights of the 2020 appropriation bill, construction of roads sighting Opopo road in Offa as an example of efforts being made by the government. She thereby pleaded for assistance from HRM to help appeal to the people to pay their taxes so the monies collected will be well utilized for other needed social amenities
The Olofa appreciated the Governor in absential for his good intentions towards the people and prayed his tenure and hard work will be in ease. He further assured his continuous assistance and support where and when necessary. He also pleaded that the construction of Taiwo Road, Offa should be looked into with the help of the same contractor that did that of Opopo Road as the work done was superb.
He encouraged the Executive Chairman and the team to continually create an avenue for taxpayers to air their views and be duly informed on the importance of paying all forms of revenue.
