KWIRS Disclaims Revenue Agents

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), has warned the general public not to pay tax to any unauthorised tax consultants.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of KWIRS, Dr. Muritala Awodun in Ilorin on Friday, the revenue service said it has come to its notice that Yemric Enterprises Limited, which has been disengaged by the Kwara State Government as tax consultants, are still collecting revenue.

The Kwara State Internal Revenue service therefore dissociated itself from this organization and warned the general public not to pay taxes to it.

The service also urged law abiding citizens and bodies to continue fulfilling their civil duties by paying all due taxes and revenue through appropriate legal channels and bodies in the interest of the state’s development.

Awodun also emphasized that Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) is the only body empowered by law to collect taxes and revenue on behalf of the state and Local Government Councils in the state.
