Adenike Babajamu is currently the Director of Admin and Operations, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS). She is a highly dynamic professional, with over 28 years vast and relevant experience in civil service, academic and banking industry.
Adenike’s working career began with the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission where she served as an Education Officer in 1988. She joined Afribank Nigeria Plc in 1993 as Executive Trainee and later served in various capacities such as Head Customer Service Unit, Head of Operations and Credit Manager. She rose to become the Branch Manager of its Ilorin Main branch and was actively involved in facilities management, business development relationship, training and retraining of staff, customer services and other banking operations. She was appointed Head of the Public Sector Team of the Kwara Region of Afribank in 2010 and was saddled with the responsibility of overseeing all public sector accounts in the five (5) branches of the state and ensuring a cordial relationship between the state and the bank.
She joined Mainstreet Bank in 2012 as Marketing Manager and rose to be the Branch Manager at the Ilorin Main Branch in 2013. She also joined Skye Bank Plc in 2015, following the acquisition of Mainstreet Bank Ltd. In Skye Bank Adenike, served as Business Development Manager and was appointed a brand champion to work with the Strategic Brand Management team of the bank. This she did until she was appointed as the Pioneer Director of Admin and Corporate Affairs of KW-IRS in 2015.
Adenike graduated with a Bachelors of Arts (Hons) degree in English (1987), Masters of Public Administration (1995) and Masters of Arts Lit-in-English (2013) from the University of Ilorin. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (2009), a Diploma Certificate in Human Resources (2016) and a Certificate in Conflict Management and Negotiation (2017). She is an alumnus of Wolverhampton University, United Kingdom where she had a training in Taxation Strategies, Ethics and Governance: 21st Century Global Best Practice (2017). Adenike also holds the Lean six sigma Yellow Belt certificate (2017).
Adenike is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard University, Cambridge where she completed the Digital Transformation in Government: Innovating Public Policy & Service Course (2018). The Course which was designed to meet the universal drive for technology in the public sector has enhanced her capacity as the Director of Admin and Operations of the KW-IRS.
Adenike is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria (ACTI) member of the Association of Chartered Economist of Nigeria (ACEN) and Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria (CIBN). She is a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA), Fellow of the Institute of Human and Natural Resources (FHNR, IPA) Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultant (FIMC) as well as Fellow of the Business Process Management Institute of Nigeria (FBPMI). She is also a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) with licence to practice.
Adenike is the Visionaire and Trustee of the Felicia Hezekiah Adeniyi Foundation (FHAD), a foundation named after her parents which aims at transforming lives of the underprivileged for generational impact through strategic education and economic empowerment. She is a motivational speaker and has been actively involved in transforming and inspiring the lives of the youth particularly the underprivileged in her community through the activities of her Foundation.
She is currently a member of the Board of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service where she also seats in the Technical Committee of the Board. Adenike is a passionate writer and currently a member of the Editorial Board of the Kwarev a publication of KW-IRS. She has a passion for reading and writing and has edited several published works of fiction, poetry and military texts. She is married to Colonel Oladele Babajamu and blessed with children.
