This, according to him, made the total revenue generated for 2016 to be N17.4billion.

Dr. Awodun further said that the tight financial engineering that has already choreographed revenue collected in the State would not give a chance for frivolous spending. He identified running of tertiary institutions, augmentation of salary and funding of Infrastructure Fund Kwara (IF-K) for infrastructural development as some of the areas that the Kwara State revenue was being diverted.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Alhaji Mahmud Babatunde Ajeigbe appreciated the media for its relentless effort in partnering with the Ministry. The Commissioner, however, appealed to journalists in the State to be thorough, sincere and objective in their reporting and always put the State in the right perspective.
